Common questions
How long is a presentation skills course?
Corporate in-house programmes run for one full day (six hours) or two days for teams that want more practice time and individual coaching. Virtual programmes follow the same structure in condensed half-day sessions. The two-day format is recommended for teams where high-stakes presentations are regular, such as sales teams, pitch teams, or executives.
What does the training cover?
The programme covers five areas: structure and narrative planning, managing nerves and energy, delivery technique (voice, pace, posture), making content memorable, and building the skill through repeated live practice with coaching feedback. Participants learn how to plan a presentation, build a narrative that audiences follow, handle questions with composure, and use slides as a support tool rather than a script.
How many people can attend the training?
In-house workshops are designed for groups of 6 to 20 participants. This range ensures that every participant has time to present, receive coaching feedback, and practise again. For larger teams, we run multiple cohorts. For individual coaching, see our Executive Presentation Coaching service.
Is the training available in Cape Town and Durban?
Yes. We deliver in-house training in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. Virtual delivery is available across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Travel costs apply for deliveries outside Johannesburg.
Can the training be customised for our industry?
Yes. Before every in-house programme, we brief with the training sponsor to understand your team's specific presentation contexts: client pitches, board presentations, internal updates, or public conference talks. The workshop exercises use real scenarios from your industry.
What makes this different from other presentation training?
The training is built on 20 years of executive coaching and competitive public speaking, including two Southern Africa Championships of Public Speaking. It is practical, not theoretical. Every participant presents multiple times during the workshop and receives direct coaching feedback. The focus is on the skills that change in-room performance, not presentation theory.
Is virtual training as effective as in-person?
For skills-based training, in-person is more effective because physical delivery elements like posture, movement, and energy are easier to coach live. However, our virtual programme is designed to maximise practice time and individual feedback, and is a good option for geographically distributed teams.
